Refining Characteristics

Naphtha
Light naphtha cut (80-150°C) has mercaptan levels comparable to Liverpool Bay, Kirkuk and Ratawi crude and needs sweetening to meet typical specifications. The heavy naphtha (150-200°C) has relatively high levels of naphthenes and aromatics (N+A) making it an excellent reformer feed.

Middle Distillates
Both kerosene/jet and diesel products are good quality. Smoke point and cetane meet product specifications. Kerosene/jet mercaptan levels require sweetening to meet specifications. In 2005 and beyond, the CPC Blend is expected to have significantly lower level of mercaptans in kerosene/jet compared to previous years.

Vacuum Gas Oil
High aniline point and “K Factor” coupled with low nitrogen and modest sulphur content result in excellent conversion in a catalytic cracker or hydrocracker.

Vacuum Residuum
Together with VGO, the vacuum residuum (570°C+) is sufficiently low in contaminants. Low vacuum residuum yield could make CPC Blend especially attractive to those refineries without residuum conversion capacity or those who wish to reduce fuel oil production.
