Usan crude oil is produced in Nigeria. Usan is a medium gravity, low sulfur crude oil produced in deep water off the coast of Nigeria, approximately 62 miles south of Port Harcourt. It is loaded from the Exxon-operated Usan FPSO, which can accommodate Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) vessels. The typical cargo size is one million barrels, but alternate cargo sizes can be arranged with advance planning. The minimum cargo size is 500 thousand barrels. Chevron holds a 30% non-operated working interest in the Usan Project in OML 138.
