Chevron's activities in Central Asia are the responsibility of its Eurasia Business
Unit (EBU) headquartered in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Chevron EBU's principal asset is the 50% shareholding in Tengizchevroil. Tengizchevroil,
formed in April 1993 as a partnership between Chevron and Tengizmunaigas, owns and
operates the Tengiz oil field in western Kazakhstan. Tengiz crude is blended with
relatively small quantities of other grades and exported via the CPC pipeline as
CPC Blend.
Chevron acts as Tengizchevroil's agent in marketing CPC Blend crude oil in international
markets.
