Chevron's activities in the Far East involve production in Indonesia, Northwest Australia, Papua New Guinea (PNG), Thailand and China. Chevron is operator through Joint Venture Company CPI for the Sumatran Light (Minas) and Sumatran Heavy (Duri) crude production. Chevron is also operator in the production of Thailand's Tantawan and Benchamas crude. Chevron's Australian business units are equity participants in NWS Condensate and LNG, Thevenard Island, Barrow Island and Cossack crude oils. In the South China Sea, Chevron and its partners produce Nanhai Light crude. Chevron's operating expertise in the upstream area was instrumental in the development of the Kutubu crude production project in Papua New Guinea.
