Chevron's assets in the Partitioned Neutral Zone (PNZ) come from Texaco's acquisition of Getty Oil's interests in the area including the long-term concession granted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Getty Oil in 1949. Production of both Ratawi & Eocene grades of crude oil were consumed locally until the refining facilities were destroyed in 1993 during the Gulf War and Ratawi crude had to be exported.

Ratawi is produced from the smaller, deeper Ratawi reservoir of the Wafra field while Eocene is produced from the larger, shallow Eocene reservoir which overlays the Ratawi accumulation. Production from the two fields is divided equally between Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
