Logistics
The Alba field is located in block 16/26 on the UK Continental Shelf about 130 miles northeast of Aberdeen. It is situated in 138m of water and the topsides consist of the Alba Northern Platform and a Floating Storage Unit (FSU) in which oil produced is stored and from which oil is exported via shuttle tanker.
Transport
Oil stored in the FSU is transported onto Navion vessels. These vessels will deliver into Northwest Europe and as far as Northern Spain. For destinations further afield, cargoes are sold FOB from trans-shipment points at Nigg Bay or Scapa Flow.
