Overview
The Alba oil field was discovered in 1984 by Chevron and has been in production since January 1994. It is heavy crude that is an economically attractive option in complex refineries already running, or contemplating running, heavy crude oils.
Current production is about 83 thousand barrels of oil per day. Chevron is part of a joint marketing group of equity holders for Alba, and typically will market 1 or 2 cargoes (each approx. 525 thousand barrels) per month.
