Overview
Chevron owns equity in 4 fields which deliver into the Forties Pipeline System. This system transports and processes oil and gas from the Central North Sea, with a nominal capacity of over one million barrels per day. It carries around 30% of the UK's oil production. Liquids from over 30 fields flow onshore by pipeline to the stabilization, separation, and processing facilities at Kinneil, Grangemouth. Forties Blend stabilized crude oil is then shipped from Hound Point on the Firth of Forth.
Chevron's assets tied into this system are the Britannia, Erskine and Elgin-Franklin gas condensate fields. A 32.4% share is owned in Britannia, 50% in Erskine and 3.9% of Elgin-Franklin. The Caledonia field is tied back into Britannia and liquids from Caledonia are delivered into the Forties System along with Britannia condensate.
In total Chevron's share of Forties blend currently stands at about 25 thousand barrels per day of oil, approximating to 15 cargoes a year of 600 thousand barrels each.
